Accustomer with Videotaping

22nd May was an interesting day for me. Sarah recorded my lecture. I came somehow prepared in the class. I am not an expert in Java ( after all I switched to Java after working 7 years in C), but Exceptions in Java is not a new topic to me. I collected some decent slides from the Internet and also brought my laptop.

When I reached the class almost everybody in the class was present, it was five minutes to start the class. Sarah handed over me the microphone along with the battery. I attach the microphone to my shirt.

I asked the class how were you, they didn't respond much. Looks like I couldn't create an amusing environment to make them talk. Then I asked them if they had any problem doing the homework. Then few of them responded. I have have to cerate some scope for them to talk from the next day. Seems like if I ask them some interesting question it can help.

I tried to attach my laptop to the projector, but there was no appropriate jack. This is one thing that creates inconvenience to me. There is no way you can demonstrate something on the Windows, all you have is Linux. Anyway I transfered the slide to the Linux machine using gmail. Once it was done, I started the lecture.

For first few moment i was a bit shaky. But soon I became somehow smooth, at least to me.
I was going through the slides and at some logical gaps I was asking "Do you have any question?". From the next day I have to ask them some questions. The interesting fact is that unless you care about them as individuals, they will not care about you.

One or two students asked questions, I can remember. I answered with ease. One or two students were not following the lecture at all, just they were sitting with their back facing towards me :D. They get amazing liberty here. In our country at least we try to sit facing the instructor. But everything is acceptable to me unless they talk so much that I becomes inaudible.

Once the lecture was finished, I handed over the microphone to Sarah. She left the class and reminded me about my next class on Tuesday.

I printed six objective type questions in Java Exceptions. Once the lecture was done, I distributed them to the students. Once they were done, I collected the papers from the students.
